Windows 10: Windows Defender "Last scan: Not available"

I've been having some issues with my pc lately. Games were crashing out of nowhere, and I eventually did a full scan with Windows Defender. After only a few minutes, the scan stopped, giving me no real message, but giving me this result:I've tried it multiple times, and tried a lot of things to fix it. There were a few times where it seemed to work once, but on the next scan it would stop partway through again. On some attempts I would even get a blue screen of death.I have just about tried everything I could find on the internet. I don't remember all of it though, but it includes the followin

This issue might occur if you have set any task scheduler for Windows Defender.

I suggest you to delete the task for Windows defender and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Search and open Schedule tasks.
  
• 
  In the left-hand menu, open the Task Scheduler Library, then select
  Microsoft >Windows >Windows Defender.
  
• 
  Double-click Windows Defender Scheduled Scan.
  
• 
  Select the Triggers panel, then select Delete.

Windows Defender - Quick Scan

Windows defender no longer offers a quick scan option.

My options are:

• Scan
• Advanced Scan

• Full Scan
• Custom Scan
• Windows Defender Offline scan

Whichever option I check, the scan will need to run for hours to complete.

Windows defender custom scan does not scan external drives

Hi Joe,

to scan external drives using Windows Defender, follow the steps provided below.

• Open Windows Defender.
• Go to Settings tab.
• Select the Advanced option.
• tick the checkbox for Scan removable drives.
