  1. Windows Defender Not turning on, redirecting to system32 from action center

My computer had been attacked by Worm:VBS/Jenxcus!nk. I got rid of this by windows malicious software removal tool. After this, when I tried to turn on windows defender from action center, the "turn on" button in action center redirected me to system32 folder. I had run sfc to repair the damaged files but it could not repair all errors found. I checked registry for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\CurrentControlSet\services and found nothing wrong with it. I checked HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\policies\microsoft directory but I couldn't find Windows defender folder. I checked Group policy

Windows Defender Not turning on, redirecting to system32 from action center

Disable Action Center in Windows 7?

Unfortunately that doesn't disable Action Center, all it does it cause Acution Center to bitch about the Security Center service not running.

Action Center seems to be a different beast from Security Center...

And telling it to not display any messages gets it out of the way, the same way disabling the icon in the suggestions above does, but Action Center is still enabled and running.
