Windows 10: Windows Defender not working after update

After I recently updated windows, I had a few problems like

-a black screen after sign-in

-80-100% cpu usage on idle

-Windows Defender crashing when I open it

-No sound from the speakers


So i reset my PC keeping my personal files, which did absolutely nothing.

I fixed most of them somehow, the computer is working just fine except that Windows Defender is still not even opening.


When I search for "defender" on start, windows defender doesn't even show up, it only shows "Windows Defender settings" which opens up.

But nothing in the window works, like nothing.

"Open Windows Security Centre" does nothing, the other buttons like "virus & threat protection", "account protection", etc also do nothing.


When the buttons are clicked, my cursor simply starts blinking and switching between the regular cursor and the loading cursor very quickly, and does nothing.

When I go to the task manager however, "Antimalware Service Executable" takes up more than 50% of my CPU. And I can't do anything to the task because it says "access denied".

The problem is sort-of fixed after restart, unless of course, I try opening defender and clicking one of the buttons - "Antimalware Service Executable" takes up 50% and the whole computer is slowed down.


Things I've tried :

-sfc /scannow.

-boot in safe mode.

-clean boot.

-dism,

-reset without deleting personal files.

-installed another antivirus and full-scanned the computer (0 threats found).

-tried to disable from services, but everything is grayed out.

Windows update and windows defender issues

SEtting up automatic updates for windows defender on windows 8

I have found this on the internet en have set up a task for automatic definitions update for Windows Defender but a window pops up when this starts to run.
Is there a way to set this without any window popping up so that it just runs in the background?

Now I'm using
"C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -SignatureUpdate -MMPC
