Discus and support Windows Defender Offline Fails to Start. in AntiVirus, Firewalls and System Security to solve the problem; I tried to run Windows Defender Offline Scan multiple times and it fails to start.     Windows Defender Offline Fails to Start.


    I tried to run Windows Defender Offline Scan multiple times and it fails to start. I get the Popup but my PC never restarts. I have tried to reregister Defender via Command Prompt. I have tried ending all running tasks for any conflicts. I have tried running scan via Power Shell.When I attempted to run the command via Power Shell I received the following message;Start-MpWDOScan : Errors were encountered when attempted to run WDO scan on your PC. At line:1 char:1 + Start-MpWDOScan + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ + CategoryInfo : PermissionDenied: MSFT_MpWDOScan:ROOT\Microsoft\...\MSFT_MpWDOScan

    Windows Defender Offline for Windows 10

    Tried this suggestion and it did not work. Tried to boot from USB with Windows Defender Offline transferred from a safe computer. Would not boot from USB. Message "Secure Boot Violation, Invalid Signature Detected, Check secure boot policy in Setup"
    Any suggestions on next steps for a Windows 10 compatible version of Windows Defender Offline?

    offline scan by win defender

    Hi,

    To further assist you with your concern with Windows Defender, follow the steps below:

    • Open the Run window by pressing Window + R button.
    • Then type services.msc and hit "Enter".
    • Look for Windows defender service in the list and right click on it and select start.
    • Once Windows defender is opened try to do the offline scan on that window.

    Let us know how it goes.
