Windows 10: Windows Defender & Program:Win32/Vigram.A

Recently I noticed Windows Defender had a red "X" and an alert for a suspected threat. Clicking on the "start actions" button starts a groundhog day series of events. The threat was detected on 1/17, and on that day I connected an old HDD to find some documents. This HDD I had used at a job that had shared PC's for academic purposes. The details pointed to that drive, so after a scan on the PC, I reconnected the HDD to root out the intruder, but nothing is found.The threats identified, and the actions started keep looping back as if nothing has been resolved?Selecting the button results

Worm: Win32/Rebhip.Z and Worm: Win32/Rebhip.U

Hi,

my computer has been infected by these 2 viruses (Worm: Win32/Rebhip.Z and Worm: Win32/Rebhip.U). Whenever I scan with Windows Defender it does not find anything. However, when i reboot the computer it automatically quarantines them each time i reboot.

How do i get rid of these viruses?? Is there a safe program outside of Windows Defender? I tried deleting some temporary files and updating my java and chrome as this website suggested but no luck. Please help! Thanks!

 

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

To troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you check the Windows Defender service if it's running. If you are using a third party spyware/malware program, it may disable the Windows Defender service. To do this, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + R key.
• Type services.msc.
• Right-click Windows Defender service and click
  Start.
