Hello!I have a very annoying problem.Windows Defender quarantined a file of over 60gbs and I am not able to do anything about it.I have already clicked the option to remove the file but it did not seem to work, there is a "hidden" copy of it under the Quarantine folder of Windows Defender even though it says the Quarantine folder is empty.Here lies the real problem, I cannot get access to it. I cannot change the ownership of the folder from "System" to "myself" thus the 60gbs of space continues to be occupied.I have no idea what to do, I think my only option is formatting my PC.Do you have a

Removing Quarantined Items in Windows Defender

Windows Defender quarantined some harmful items but did not remove them from my pc. Windows Defender did not request removal. Should I just leave the items quarantined or remove them myself? If removal is recommended, how am I to go about

doing so, as Windows Defender did not list the items in the Detect section where threats are placed for removal?

Where are the files that windows defender quarantines?

Where are the files that Windows Defender quarantines? I turned on the computer and Defender said a file was dangerous. I clicked the option to Allow the file but it was quarantined anyway. In Defender I can see that it was quarantined and I clicked Restore
but the file was not restored. So I clicked Allow but it still was not restored and now there is no option for restoring the file. In other words Restore and Allow options do not function which is why I am asking this question. Hide hidden files is disabled
and I am searching with administrator privileges: There is only one folder in C:\Program Files\Windows Defender. And that folder is named en-US and there is nothing in there like a quarantined file. Sorry for posting this other information but this question
has been asked repeatedly elsewhere but doesn't get answered because too many people for some reason suggest things like use the Restore option etc. I am not asking for that. I need this file badly. I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me where
Windows Defender stores files that it quarantines? Thank you.

 

Windows Defender - File Removed

Windows defender has removed file from my PC as being a medium level threat, I know this file and I also know that windows detects it a false positive.

I want Windows defender to return the file to where it was removed from, but am unable to get it to do this.

I go into defender and its not listed under Quarantined Items.

but is listed under all detected Items. How can I find this file and return it to where it should be?
