    For the first couple years or so, my laptop ran the Windows Defender Quick Scan on its own in the background and it took 5-10 minutes to finish. At some point lately, the scan hasn't started on its own anymore, but the yellow alert on the taskbar icon warns me that too much time has passed, and I have to do it manually.But the worst problem is that Quick Scan now takes waaay more time to finish. Here's a sad example.At the moment the laptop runs quite well, at a glance it doesn't look like it has any major problem.I'm desperatey trying to solve this one though, by googling at random.     Windows Defender - Quick Scan

    Windows defender no longer offers a quick scan option.

    My options are:

    • Scan
    • Advanced Scan
    • Full Scan
    • Custom Scan
    • Windows Defender Offline scan
    Whichever option I check, the scan will need to run for hours to complete.

    Is a quick scan available?

    How do I restore this feature?

    Windows Defender- Not seeing an automatic daily quick scan

    Installed Windows 10 Anniversary update which included the new cloud version of Windows Defender and so far note that there does not seem to be automatic daily quick scan as in previous version. Last automatic scan was on 9/22 so did manual scan on 9/28
    & 9/30. Any suggestions?
