Windows 10: Windows Defender randomly turning off sometimes

Previous Value: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\ServiceStartStates = 0x1

New Value: Default\ServiceStartStates = 0x0

I could not find many information about this. In my event log, now and then I have logs with the ID 5007, saying that values were changed either from 0x1 to 0x0 or from 0x0 to 0x1. I checked my Event log and this happened just a few min ago. According to Event log, last time something like this happened was 1 month ago.

Is this normal? What exactly does this reg key even mean?

(And yes, I am aware of MS Defender crashing because of shortcorts which have a dot at the end or other files which end with a dot. not the extension dot, but an additional dot. And I made sure I dont have any of these files anymore, besides when I had, it would give a crash log, not an information log. So this is not the case)

According to a scna, my computer is defenitely clean, what I expected. What could be the cause? I flaired this under bug, since I am not sure if this is a bug, But what I am totally sure of, is, that Windows Defender shouldnt just turn itself off.

Windows Defender turns off randomly

I have the premium version of Malwarebytes and Windows Defender turns off randomly. I have been running both successfully for several months until today. I rebooted computer several times. I scanned for malwares (using Malwarebytes) and nothing was
reported. I went to "Security Center" and restarted. I checked Registry Entry, found an entry for MsMpEng.exe and deleted it. Still, Windows Defender randomly turns off.

• What OS are you running?
• Are you also using 3rd-party security program? If so, please consider disabling it, as some could turn off Windows Defender automatically.

 

Windows Defender turns off randomly and cannot be turned on

We too have the problem with Windows Defender turning off randomly. We have two computers one newer than the other and it only happens on the older one. The newer one never has had a problem. Only Windows Defender and Malawarebytes are installed on both
computers. On the older one, I restarted the computer and I went to settings/security/windows defender and it showed it was on. But we have been getting periodic messages that it is turned off and that we need to turn it on. However, when we try to turn
it on through the program it says it cannot be turned on. Both computers are running windows 10. It seems there must be a bug in the windows defender program.
