    Using Window 11,I am a student and created a simple software application using Qt C++. I made an installer with Inno Setup Compiler. Since my code isn't signed, I ran it on my laptop, and it worked fine, although it showed a "Publisher Unknown" warning. After uploading the installer to Mega, I downloaded it on another PC. When I tried to run the installer, it was blocked, and I received a message indicating that the file might contain a virus. Windows Defender flagged it as containing a Trojan and showed that the file was quarantined. Certainly! Here’s the revised sentence: When I open Windo

    Facts

    Several weeks from windows Defender Virus and Threat Protection a message about a severe security breach.

    • Message: Remediation incomplete.
    • Detected: Trojan:Script/Phonzy.A!ml
    • Details: This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.
    • Affected Items: file: \Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy18\Windows\SysWOW64\CDN4055\data.dll
    Example of message frequency:

    • 8/4/23 2 times 20.42 8.23
    • 8/3/23 3 times 20.04 13.48 1.33

    Remediation steps taken:

    • Windows Defender: Full scan: Results: NO issues.

    Remediation Incomplete Message

    Remediation Incomplete Message

    I had a Trojan threat that indicated a virus was in Temporary files. I ran CCleaner to clear temporary files. I then checked Windows Security and it said my Virus and Threat Protection was ok. See screenshot.

    Later, I rechecked Protection History and found the Remediation Incomplete message. See screenshot. I read that sometimes this message can appear after clearing a virus threat.

    I ran CCleaner again and also Malwarebytes. I also did a Full scan on Windows Defender. In all scans they did not show I had any virus issues.

    So, how should I treat the Remediation Incomplete message?

    Windows Security Protection History-remediation incomplete

    Windows 10 security found two trojans that are now listed in my protection history as severe-remediation incomplete. And yet my virus and threat protection shield icon has a green checkmark. What if anything should I do? Why does it say remediation incomplete?

    A manual scan by Malwarebytes identifies zero threats.
