    WINdows Defender scanning map drives on Windows 11 ARM on VM


    I'm not sure weather VM matters in this case i'm running VMWare Fusion, I'm wondering weather its a bug in windows 11 ARM specifically, but when i use Defender to scan Map drives after an 30 minutes or large files, or so Windows 11 ARM just reboots by itself.. There is no error in event log and nothing can see which would cause this..I can reproduce the issue under UTM Windows 11 ARM, as i switch VM's because i thought it was a Fusion issue to isolate, in both cases clean installing Windows 11 ARM. It only happens when scanning network drives only, not local, or locally attached ones to c

    Windows defender custom scan does not scan external drives

    Hi Joe,

    to scan external drives using Windows Defender, follow the steps provided below.

    • Open Windows Defender.
    • Go to Settings tab.
    • Select the Advanced option.
    • tick the checkbox for Scan removable drives.

    Windows defender custom scan does not scan external drives

    I have Defender Windows 10. I tried using custom scan to select and scan external drives. The screen listing the drives comes up, but the "OK" button remains grayed out so unable to scan any of the drives listed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Windows defender custom scan does not scan external drives

    I tried the custom scan in Defender Windows 10. It brings up the list of drives but the "OK" button remains grayed out when I select any drive in the list, so still unable to scan external drives... Any suggestion would be appreciated.
