Directly under these items, we start again with all the apps listed and their settings, as per normal, no @ at the beginning. The commonality between these @ items is the two different bolded numbers shown above.

I checked the Windows Defender Security Center's > Device Performance and Health > Health report (last scanned 5feb2019) > Apps and software: No issues.

I don't understand the need for the repetition of those @ items and am wondering if I do have an issue with security on my PC. I do have anti-virus software installed (Trend Micro Internet Security 2019 configured properly) and the Security Center recognizes the program, which seems to be functioning properly: the Security Center gives it a green tick.

My current Win10 version is 1803, OS build 17134.523, installed on 14may2018.

    :)

windows defender & security center services keep turning off

Are you running any other AV or did you have one running in the past? If you didn't use an uninstaller for the AV, then the remnants of it could be causing the problem. Normally any time you install an AV it disables Defender by default.

If you are getting any error codes please list those, that will be helpful in helping you.

As torre suggested, might be a good idea to do a reset or even a reinstall.

    Windows defender security center problem

When I try to start the windows defender security center the antimalware service executable starts up and uses up to 98% CPU. I have tried to change proxy restart defender and many suggested steps and also went to windows deffender online to do a scan
that way but no malware came up. The problem still persists. Does anyone know what to do in this situation? I just want my security to run properly but I cant even get to the menus.

    windows security center disabled????????

i just installed windows defender on my computer (freshly formated new hard drive about 2 weeks ago) and it would not update because the security center was not running. so i went to msconfig and it was not in the services list so i went to services.msc and it was disabled. so i changed it to automatic and started it. after rebooting it was still running, so i restarted it again and it was disabled again, so i renabled it again. and when i went to the security center in control pannel it looked like this
