    Windows Defender - Unauthorized changes blocked - full path?


    With Window Defender when I click on change protection it throws up a truncated path when it blocks the path of the file. I want these programs to update certain files and can't decrypt the full path in the short message to allow the change. Where do I get the path so I can enter it as an exception. For example, it won't let me update certain OpenOffice files.

    i keep receiving Virus & Threat Protection notification

    UNAUTHORIZED CHANGES BLOCKED

    Controlled Folder Access blocked C:/Windows\...\notepad.exe from making changes to the folder %userprofile%...\Documents

    but it happen with anything i try and save, create etc.....please help

    Windows Defender Unauthorized Changes Blocked

    What program trying to access it?

    Run Windows Update and install all updates.

    It is new feature in the latest version of Windows 10, it blocked unauthorized access to folder and you may enable or disable it in Windows Defender Settings.

    Using an older program, Paint Shop Pro 7, trying to save a photo to a new location such as the desktop or a library I am not allowed, and get this message.

    I am trying to save this file yet the message seems to suggest I am searching for it!
