Discus and support Windows defender wont scan at all, security intelligence version is 0.00.0 in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I haven't used my pc in a few weeks and now coming back to it windows defender doesn't work at all and my browser crashes on startup, im not sure if...     Windows defender wont scan at all, security intelligence version is 0.00.0


    I haven't used my pc in a few weeks and now coming back to it windows defender doesn't work at all and my browser crashes on startup, im not sure if ive got some kind of virusWhen I first came back to using my pc, my browser firefox would crash on startup I cant see anything while its starting, then just crashes instantly, tried a windows defender scan and its not working at all, version apparently set to 0.00.0, ive tried a lot of the advice ive found online, cleared a load of space to make updates which I hadn't been able to install for like a year, looked to see if there was any install

    Hi g33, Welcome to 10F! *Smile

    You'll see different kinds of behavior, but that's normal. I had one this morning when I took a look at updates, it went from pending D/L to D/Ling, then pending install, to installing, to what you saw, installing - 0%, then Done an it disappeared, rechecked for updates and finally finished telling me I'm up-to-date.

    All my progress indicators showed 0% *Eek *chuckle

    Defender Quick Scan not remembered

    I keep seeing requests for quick scans every few days in Defender. Should be more time between requests.

    I checked the Defender log, and extracting from recent sequential Events 1151, I get this:

    Windows Defender Network Inspection Service fails to start

    You said otherwise defender work?

    If you go to Event viewer, and select Application and service logs /Microsoft / Windows / Windows defender ( Operational and look for ev, n. 1151

    There you have all the info - Health report
