    Hi there, i'm using Windows 11 64-bit and my Windows Defender won't turn on. I didn't notice this until recently. Currently, the threats have been removed using eset online scanner but the problem persists. I've done some googling and found information about defender_diag and Farbar Recovery Scan Tool FRST64.exe. But to fix this FRST needs fixlist and i don't know how to get it. Can anyone please help me?     WINDOWS DEFENDER IS NOT REMOVING THREATS

    Hello Paul,

    Thanks for providing the link and trying to help me but it doesn't do the job. I ran the safety scanner for a full scan and it took almost 10 hours and didn't find any threats, but the list on windows defender about threats is still there and it shows active.
    I don't know if that's a bug or what I'm done doing a clean boot and restart my computer after the safety scanner finished scanning but the threats are still listed there. Very annoying.

    I'm thinking of removing it manually but I don't know-how. I tried to remove it by cleaning the log files where it stores the protection history but I think the listed threats were stored in another location.

    Windows defender is turned off and won`t turn back on

    Windows defender on windows 10 enterprise won`t turn on. This happened shortly after i updated it; when I try to turn it on it says:

    This app has been turned off and it isn't monitoring your computer.

    And right underneath it, it says:

    If you are using another app for malicious and unwanted software use Security and Maintenance to check that app`s status.

    Need for a response ASAP, thanks Windows Defender won't turn on even after removing malware threats. Currently trying to use... :)

    What the hell, windows defender?

    Yep, I agree with you on that one. If you have no anti-malware software installed and you've turned off Windows Defender you are a threat to the whole public Internet. This goes for not installing patches as well, if you haven't installed patches then your ISP should turn your Internet off until you have done so.
