    Windows Defender won't update


    Hello,


    I have tried repeatedly to update windows defender after updating to the latest version of Windows 10. It keeps failing ... I have run the troubleshooting and fixed any potential problems. The Windows 10 update installed without any difficulty.


    Any help would be appreciated.

    Why won't Windows Defender not auto update anymore

    I have have windows updates set to notify updates , I will install myself, because I want to make a system restore point before installing updates.

    Because of this windows defender does not update automatically and I had to create a task for updating in the task scheduler, which I did but it does not work anymore since I re-installed windows.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Windows defender is turned off and won`t turn back on

    Windows defender on windows 10 enterprise won`t turn on. This happened shortly after i updated it; when I try to turn it on it says:

    This app has been turned off and it isn't monitoring your computer.

    And right underneath it, it says:

    If you are using another app for malicious and unwanted software use Security and Maintenance to check that app`s status.

    Need for a response ASAP, thanks Windows Defender won't update :)
