Windows 10: Windows defender

Hello Community,So I bought a used laptop Dell latitude E6420 with windows 10 installed on it. The windows defender option doesn't show me any options it's just blank. And sometimes windows update option just hangs on me. Another problem is windows defender keep detecting files in system32 as a virus same goes to downloaded apps and files. Its a headache please help me!!!!!!

Windows Defender problem

To troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you check the Windows Defender service if it's running. If you are using a third party spyware/malware program, it may disable the Windows Defender service. To do this, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + R key.
• Type services.msc.
• Right-click Windows Defender service and click
  Start.

Windows update and windows defender issues

We suggest you to avoid installing any cleaner or anti-virus software that may interrupt the function of Windows Defender. Make sure that Windows Defender is always on. To do this follow these steps:

• On the Start menu, type Windows Defender and hit enter.
  
• Click Settings.
  
• Turn Real-time protection on.

We also recommend you to install the latest update for Windows Defender.

Installing Apps on Windows 10 Has Windows Defender Finding Malware

I would suggest you to open Windows defender and add exclusions and check if it helps. Follow the steps to add exclusions in windows Defender.

• 
  Type Windows defender settings in the search bar and press enter
  
• 
  Under Exclusions click on Add Exclusion
