Windows 10: Windows Defender

I am trying to get widows defender working on my daughter's laptop. She had other antiviral software which she had let expire and viruses which had disabled windows defender. I cleaned the computer with Malwarebytes (over 90 problems) and found on net how to get defender working again. Have run scans successfully. Problem is not being able to tell if the other scheduled tasks under the windows defender section of tasks are set up correctly and working. CacheMainteance, Cleanup, and Verification have no trigger and it is not clear to me if they are running. I assume they are run by windows maintinance but since I can't find any way to get a complete list of all tasks run by maintenance, I can't be sure. Are those tasks being run my maintenance?

Windows Defender problem

To troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you check the Windows Defender service if it's running. If you are using a third party spyware/malware program, it may disable the Windows Defender service. To do this, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + R key.
• Type services.msc.
• Right-click Windows Defender service and click
  Start.

Windows update and windows defender issues

We suggest you to avoid installing any cleaner or anti-virus software that may interrupt the function of Windows Defender. Make sure that Windows Defender is always on. To do this follow these steps:

• On the Start menu, type Windows Defender and hit enter.
  
• Click Settings.
  
• Turn Real-time protection on.

We also recommend you to install the latest update for Windows Defender.
