Windows 10: Windows Defender

The following message just popped up on my computer "Windows Defender Security Alert. Meltdown and Spectre maintenance notice. Contact your security administrator." This notice has now stopped my pointer and mouse from functioning and I cannot get into anything. In addition I can see " transferring files going on. Is this a virus or malware? I can't get in to my computer as this is blocking me. What is this and what do I do to straighten this out so I can get back into my computer? Ut starts as soon as my desktop appears and I can' get in to anything. Desperate for help and where re my files going ....to some hacker. I have Webroot antivirus.

Windows Defender problem

To troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you check the Windows Defender service if it's running. If you are using a third party spyware/malware program, it may disable the Windows Defender service. To do this, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + R key.
• Type services.msc.
• Right-click Windows Defender service and click
  Start.

Let us know the result.

Installing Apps on Windows 10 Has Windows Defender Finding Malware

I would suggest you to open Windows defender and add exclusions and check if it helps. Follow the steps to add exclusions in windows Defender.

  Type Windows defender settings in the search bar and press enter
  
• 
  Under Exclusions click on Add Exclusion
