  1. Windows deployment with WCD and ppkg file

Hello, I've tried to use Windows Configuration Designer to create an installation package for new laptopsIt works fine, sets up local administrator, wi-fi password and computer name, but when it comes to installing apps, it just doesn't do that. I tried each app install command myself, and the silent installs went throguh without problemsBut when I plug in the pendrive, it installs the config, reboots, gets to scripts and then simply skips every app and says "installation completed successfully"The first app that should install is 7-zip cmd /c "7z2301-x64 1.exe" /S How do I install those

    :)

How to create provision package (PPKG) programatically?

Hi there, I'm looking to automate the creation of PPKG files using any programming language. I haven't been able to find any detailed instructions or examples on how to do this, and I'd prefer not to use the WCD tool.

If you have any suggestions, I'd be grateful.

    Thanks!

    Hi David,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

WSD is used for creating Windows Deployments in a business environment, below is a link to the information Microsoft provide on what WCD is and how to use it for setting up things like Azure AD, Ethernet... etc.

Issues with generating PPKG using customizations.xml file

    What I'm trying to do:
I'm trying to generate a PPKG file using settings from the customizations.xml configuration file. For generating the PPKG file, I use the CLI command named ICD, here's the documentation for it: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/w...ovisioning-packages/provisioning-command-lineThe problem is that ICD doesn't recognize the structure of my customizations.xml file:

When trying to generate the PPKG, I get the following error:

I thought maybe I was just not following the documentation correctly and my structure was wrong, so I decided to use the GUI application, Windows Configuration Designer, to create the PPKG. After the PPKG was successfully created through the GUI, I went to the source to check the customizations.xml file structure, and it was absolutely the same!!!
Then I tried to call the above command, but using the file that was generated by the program, and I got the same error. So, the question is, what am I doing wrong? Maybe the WCD application under the hood uses a different CLI utility? How come it successfully generates PPKGs through it, but I can't do it through the CLI? Please help.
