Windows 10: Windows Desktop and Laptops wifi connection issue on domain joined computers

The issue is that at times some of our users get disconnected from wifi. When they try to reconnect. It says cannot connect to this network. After rebooting the machine and trying again. It doesn't connect. My main question is why when we right click on the wifi ssid and select forget.. it doesn't do anything. It suppose to allow the user to enter their username and password to authenticate with AD. Do you guys know how to allow the wifi connection to allow the user to attempt to re-enter their login credentials? We do not use roaming profile. If a user logons to a machine for the first time,

Unable to Join Homegroup either on Laptop or Desktop

After upgrading both Desktop & Laptop to Win 10, I am not able to JOIN Homegroup. Both computers show the option Homegroup: READY TO CREATE. Nomally when a Homegroup is created through one of the computers in network, Second or other computers should show it as READY TO JOIN. But that is not happening.

Internet works on the both computers. I can even see each other computer in Network. But Laptop, most of the times, is unable to open up shared Desktop and shows Path error.

Using TP Link MR3420 Wifi Router. DHCP enabled.
Desktop using Belkin Wifi Dongle to connect to wifi network.
Laptop (Lenovo) has builtin Wifi.

Any suggestions/solution please ?

 

UnattendedJoin error: failed to find the domain data (0x6e)

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't want to add a domain account, as this is a generic unattended install that will be used for all company machines. Do you think it's possible that the computer would join the domain if, instead of using UnattendedJoin in specialize, I used your steps but left out the specific account? The other thing I was thinking was to use a generic account to allow the domain join during the specialize step. I added a machine password in the UnattendedJoin component, and instead of getting the error listed above, I got an authentication error, which makes me think I could probably do a secure join instead of the unsecure join. Thoughts?

 

Donated Laptops not joining Domain Network

Hello, we have been donated Dell E7470s laptops to our nonprofit without any OS. We have installed the Win10 pro OS and joined our Domain but when we attempt to connect to our internal domain Wi-Fi network they cannot connect. They connect fine the the guest Wi-Fi network or any other Wi-Fi hotspot. I get a prompt with username and password. This should automatically be populated via GP and does not happen with any other new laptop or reconfigured laptop only these donated machines.

All new laptops and a few of these have connected fine to the same Wi-Fi network but we struggle with quite a few of them. We have done the following to rule out some issues:

1. Swapped Wi-Fi cards

2. Swapped Hard Drives

3. Connected to any other Wi-Fi network (successfully)

4. These have an internal SmartCard reader

5. We have joined and disjoined the domain successfully but they won't connect regardless.

6. It was missing a Root Certificate Authority (which we imported to Trusted Root..)

All Wi-Fi settings are defined by our Group Policy (Windows 2016 Domain) and all other computer connect perfectly without issue but these Dell's do not.

I see on our domain controller the following message: The client certificate for the user Domain\ComputerName$ is not valid, and resulted in a failed smartcard logon. Please contact the user for more information about the certificate they're attempting to use for smartcard login. The chain status was: The operation completed successfully.

Questions:

1. Maybe the smartcard reader is locked for the previous companies domain?

2. I have tried importing the Root Certification Authority Certificate since it was missing but this still doesn't work. Could it be that a certificate is missing?

Any help would be appreciated. These are a great help to our programs but they will be useless if I cannot get them to join our wifi network.
