Windows 10: Windows detects 3 monitors when it boots up

So I have 2 windows 10 laptops and one external Asus portable monitor (MB16ACM), I noticed similar pattern on both laptops WHERE every time I boot into Windows while the screen is connected through thunderbolt port windows will automatically detect 2 external monitors instead of 1 (total is 3 screens including the laptop screen of course). This can be fixed by detaching and reinserting the monitor cable. But it gets frustrating to do this every time I turn on the laptop.

The drivers are up to date and the screen works flawlessly without any issue.

Is there any way to fix this permanently?

win10 update 1903 not detecting monitor on boot

win10 update 1903 not detecting HDMI monitor on boot. I cant do anything else because my monitor is not working so cant enter the system for this reason. I tried to remove battery from MB for 45 minutes
and its still not working. Any suggestion would be helpful.

Hi,

First of all I suggest you to try with a driver remove and reinstall with Device Manager. To do so:

1. Press WINDOWS + X

2. Click on "Device Manager"

3. Click on "Battery"

4. Right click on the first element on list

5. Click on "Remove"

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the second element on list

7. Click on "Detects Hardware change" (monitor icon)

Then reboot your system and check if the problem still exists.
