Windows 10: Windows detects incorrect timezone

I realise that this question has been asked multiple time but many of the "solutions" have out of data information; .e.g clear location history or use the MS Maps app. My windows version is 10.0.26100.4351On some networks Windows detects the wrong location/timezone. Unfortunately the one network is the primary one I use. I'm pretty certain it is related to the AP MAC address. This is a Ubiquiti system. My Ubiquiti is setup correctly, correct time zone, region and even the exact location to within meters.My default location is set in Windows but it still gets the wrong location. Microsoft has a

We have an office of about 40 users and more than half of these are reporting their location and timezone as Brussels. We are located in Perth, Western Australia. So this is a very large shift in location. If we disable the WIFI adapters the location almost immediately corrects itself. This is disabling the adapter, not just disconnecting from wifi. If the adapter is enabled and wifi disconnected it will revert to Brussels.

Is there a database that Microsoft keeps somewhere with WIFI SSID's and their location and, how do we get this updated to correct the location. Or, is there a way to stop windows from getting the location from WIFI. The timezone being incorrect is a major issue.

Thanks I-Cat, unfortunately manually setting the time or timezone is not an option. I had brought up setting the timezone via group policy but this was rejected as we have users that travel internationally and it needs to be set automatically.

The location and locale are both set to Australia

NTP is working and the time is correct when set to the correct timezone. NTP has no bearing on timezone.

Also we have the timezone set to +8utc in DHCP but this makes no difference, windows prefers using the location.

Timezone Change

Hi Iselda,

For us to properly isolate the issue with changing the timezone, we would like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• What is the exact error message that you are getting?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

As an initial resolution, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• In the search box, type in cmd. You'll see Command Prompt listed.
  Right-click and select Run as Administrator.
• Type tzutil /l to see the list of all time zones.
• Once you have found your time zone, copy the description that is on the second line. Example:
  
  (UTC-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada)
  
  Central Standard Time <---- copy
  
• Afterwards, type tzutil /s "paste the time zone here". Like this:
  
  tzutil /s "Central Standard Time" (make sure to include the quotations!); then, Enter.
  
• Exit the Command Prompt, and then go to your time settings.
