Windows 10: Windows detects microphone, but no audio signal coming through

This microphone DOES work. I simply plugged it into my laptop without any setup and it worked perfectly. On my desktop no audio recording works. When I plug a microphone any mic, not just this one it detects the microphone asking me what device I plugged in, then I select mic in but receives no audio signal from it.I&

Microphone not detected

I've run it, it says the problem was 'Generic audio driver'. But I don't actually feel any problems on playing audios. My problem was about external microphones not detected, this laptop wont detect any external microphones
plugged in, it will always use the internal microphone. I've done the troubleshoot (recording audio) and the troubleshoot said they can't detect the problem.

 

Headphones microphone not detected

Hi guys, my microphone worked well till someone changed some settings on my laptop and now idk how to change it back. I can hear in my headphones but the microphone is not detect. Only the laptop microphone works.... I have Steelseries arctis 3

To clarify the issue, have you checked the compatibility of the microphone to Windows 10? You can check if the microphone driver is available in the Device Manager or not by following these steps:

• Go to Search bar.
• Type devmgmt.msc then hit Enter.
• Expand Audio inputs and outputs.
• Check if microphone driver is available.

We also suggest performing a clean boot to check if there are software conflicts that can cause the issue.
