Windows 10: Windows dictation ignores commands

I'm learning to use windows dictation. It offers tips for commands such as say "delete that", "select all", " stop dictating". However when I say these commands, it simply inserts the words of the command without actually doing the command. For example if I say "delete that" it will just insert the words "delete that" into the text box without deleting anything. I know it recognizes my voice commands because it prints them exactly in the text box.I how do I fix it so that it performs the commands instead of ignoring them?

Voice commands to format dictated text in Word?

Okay, but the issue is not about Word - it is about the commands available for Windows 10 dictation. What commands are available to format text? Are there any commands that exist that are not present on this
list? If that list contains every possible command, then where would I submit a feature request to include formatting commands in the next reworking of Windows dictation? Again - the dictation software is the problem, not Word. It seems like you are really
interested in shunting my problem elsewhere instead of saying "I don't know the answer"!

Suggestion: /? (-?) and /help (-help) command-line arguments to show a list of all possible arguments in a small window. *Smile

1. Are you using dictation in Windows or Office application?
   
2. Since when are you facing this issue?
   
3. Did you make any changes to the computer before this issue started?
   

I suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps:

Step 1: To dictate text:

1. Open Speech Recognition by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking Windows Speech Recognition.

2. Say "start listening" or click the Microphone button to start the listening mode.

3. Open the program you want to use or select the text box you want to dictate text into.

4. Say the text that you want dictate.
