Hello other users, I urgently need help to understand how we can have the censorship anti-feature removed from the Windows Dictation Win H. I primarily use dictation to help me communicate across all applications on my PC so The Windows dictation "profanity filter" is not only unnecessary, but it's outright harmful to people's ability to communicate clearly with others. Does anyone know why this has been done to us? It doesn't make any sense. People can still curse on their own devices. It doesn't help anyone to impose such an arbitrary restriction in the first place. Can anyone point me t

Does anyone know why this has been done to us? It doesn't make any sense. People can still curse on their own devices. It doesn't help anyone to impose such an arbitrary restriction in the first place. Can anyone point me to the adequate justification Microsoft must have for limiting the free speech of the general public in this way?

The way it looks currently is that the Microsoft Speech and Language team has utterly failed the Windows user base by intentionally HARD CODING CENSORSHIP into its general Windows Dictation (Win H) system. What a terrible thing to do to people. and what's to stop them from encroaching further on peoples speech rights with this tool in the future?

From the thousands of user complaints and pleadings over the years, it's clear that Microsoft STILL continues not to take mass user feedback and genuine concern regarding this issue seriously. So can any users please help me find a way to solve this problem? given that our continuous feedback submissions are dismissed by Microsoft advisors just saying "This is by design" and "submit feedback"... That isn't helping any of the millions of people being continuously oppressed by this awful Microsoft decision to curtail free speech for seemingly no gain.

Dictation not working.

Please provide some additional information, so that we can assist you better.

1. Are you using dictation in Windows or Office application?
   
2. Since when are you facing this issue?
   
3. Did you make any changes to the computer before this issue started?
   

I suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps:

Step 1: To dictate text:

1. Open Speech Recognition by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking Windows Speech Recognition.

2. Say "start listening" or click the Microphone button to start the listening mode.

3. Open the program you want to use or select the text box you want to dictate text into.

4. Say the text that you want dictate.
