Windows dictation is no longer working. It says " something went wrong, try again in a little while. Seems like this was a server issue last year. Same issue? Any suggestions?

Dictation not working.

Please provide some additional information, so that we can assist you better.

1. Are you using dictation in Windows or Office application?
   
2. Since when are you facing this issue?
   
3. Did you make any changes to the computer before this issue started?
   

I suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps:

Step 1: To dictate text:

1. Open Speech Recognition by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking Windows Speech Recognition.

2. Say "start listening" or click the Microphone button to start the listening mode.

3. Open the program you want to use or select the text box you want to dictate text into.

4. Say the text that you want dictate.

Step 2: You may refer Microsoft article related to Dictating text:

[FIXED] Windows dictation is no longer working for me.

[FIXED]: This is an edit to indicate that this issue was resolved. Turns out the issue was on the server side, and Microsoft seems to have fixed it. Should this happen again, the built-in voice-to-text in Google Docs (free) online or Microsoft Word (paid) work as temporary backup options.

The windows dictation that comes up when you press Windows+H is no longer working for me (it was working about two weeks ago). It throws up an error saying: “Something went wrong. Try again in a little while”.


Things I have tried:

1. Checking that my microphone is working (I have tested this extensively and it is working fine).
   
2. Trying other voice to text apps (Google voice-to-text works great on the same computer).
   
3. Restarting my computer.
   
4. Trying “Windows Speech Recognition” (this appears to be a different voice to text app on my PC, but is garbage compared to Windows+H Dictation or Google voice-to-text).
   
5. In cmd, attempting to use the “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” command followed by “sfc /scannow” (it said it fixed some entries, but did not fix Dictation).
   

What should I try next? Ideally, I don't want to be forced to reset my PC for this.
