Windows 10: Windows Dictation Windows Key+H says I have no internet access

I am attempting to use Windows Key+H to start voice recognition. I get this response:It looks like you're not connected to the Internet. Check your connection and try again.0x800704cfI am connected to the internet. Rebooting does not resolve. I checked permissions and settings, all are fine and none have changed. Windows Speech Recognition barely works, but isn't reliable but I know it's not a volume or mic permissions problem. Troubleshooters were no help. Researching the 0x800704cf error code online didn't find anything helpful. Why would Windows Dictation think I have no internet access?

Windows 1803 Dictation (Windows Key + H) Not Working

Hi,

I installed Windows 1803 last week and was using the Windows Key + H combo to activate the dictation feature. I successfully used dictation to compose some e-mails this way. This week, however, when I press the same key combination, nothing happens. The
dictation feature does not activate.

I'm in Canada and hadn't adjusted my location or speech language settings after the install, they were set to Canada and English (Canada). I have tried changing them to United States and English (United States), but the Windows Key + H combination still
does nothing.

I also updated another computer in my home yesterday to 1803, and the Windows Key + H combo has not worked on it even once.

Any light you can shed on this problem would be greatly appreciated. It would have been nice to have dictated this message!

Windows dictation sometimes does not respond

I use dictation a lot. When I press the windows+h keys, the box pops up that says, "listening" I say something, but it does not type anything. I press windows+h key again to close. No "bloop" sounds this time. I press windows+h keys again to open the dialogue
box. No bloop when I open. I try to say something, but still it does not type anything. I press windows+h key to close. I hear a "bloop". I press windows+h key again to open dictation. I hear the "bloop" upon opening the box. Now dictation works. I finish
dictation and press the windows+h and I hear a bloop

I want dictation to work on the first time I press windows+h, not the third time.

 

Windows key+H dictation not working in Microsoft Word.

Have you tried the control panel speech recognition I suggested?

You can find this by going into Control Panel > type in "Speech Recognition" and then set up a microphone. then continue to turn it on and use it instead of win+H dictation.
