Windows 10: Windows does not detect third display from docking station

Hello,My laptop is connected to a docking station that is connected to 2 external monitors with DP2 cables. All hardware works here I did test with somebody else's laptop and it detects all 3 displays.Here's what I tried:- Check for Windows updates and optional updates: all up-to-date- Go to Display settings through Windows + I -> Display. I shows a miniature for a third screen that when I select and click detect, it says "We didn't find another display"- Uninstall drivers and look for hardware changes. I tried with several drivers as I was frustrated.- I was so frustrated that I formatte

Windows Powershell- Detect Docking Stations and attached monitors


I am trying to write a script to detect all docking stations and monitors attached to those docking station for Lenovo Thinkpad t540p laptops on a domain network. Most of the monitors are Asus. Any suggestions or is this even possible? Running powershell from DEV WIN 10

Hi Stefan,

If your display is not working with the thinkpad docking station, and the monitor is not being detected, I guess the problem is with Windows.

Even in my case, the 2nd monitor was not getting detected through the dock (I have a generic USB dock - Kensington. Had also written to them about the issue). Had downloaded and installed the latest drivers.

But from your inputs, it definitely looks like the issue is with windows drivers.

Hope they fix it soon.

The whole point of having a dock get defeated.

The display on docking station is not working since i upgraded to windows 10.

I have a kensington USB dock with that i am using with my ThinkPad.

I was using win 7 Pro, and the docking station was working perfectly fine.

After i upgraded to Win 10, the display on the dock has stopped working. All other devices/functions (keyboard, mouse, LAN, other usb devices) attached to the dock are working. Win 10 is not detecting the 2nd screen/display device.

Anyone else facing similar problem? Have you found any solution to this?

As a temporary arrangement, i have connected the 2nd monitor to the laptop video out.

Have also written to kensington, about the issue.
