Windows 10: Windows does not recognize I am connected to the internet/wifi, but my other apps do.

Recently my family got new wifi. On our other devices, it's displaying our bars for connection. However, on my laptop, it still displays the "connected to wifi, but no internet" symbol. What's strange is that I'm still recognized as connected to wifi. I can still connect to websites, I can still connect to voice or video chats, and I can still load some online tools. Windows-related apps and settings still say I'm not online. I can't install windows updates or the built-in troubleshooter engines. I debated on reinstalling windows while saving my files, but I think reaching out here might be wi

Lost internet connection after upgrading to Windows 10.

after downloading windows 10, i had no internet wifi connections. tried almost everything from community.

I downloaded talent driver network software to an

external drive using another computer and then ran the set up on non internet computer. Wifi networks reappeared and I was able to get on the internet and download some apps but connects lost by the next day when turned on computer, Again unable to get
on internet and network adapters not listed. Talent driver software no longer effective.

tried INFO GROUND(/) STEP 1. NO CHANGED...no connections listed.

Laptop apps (Settings, Etc) say not connected to network or internet but browser connects to home network and internet

I re-registered apps per your suggestion.

Didn't fix problem.

The problem seems related to built-in system apps --I.E Settings, Network and Internet Settings, Windows Updates, List of available wifi networks, etc.

None of those apps recognize my connection to LAN network and internet connection.

However, the list of available wifi networks does show I'm connected to my home wifi connection, but says no internet connection.

I can't perform any Settings functions or anything which requires internet connection because the built-in app thinks it's not connected to internet.

But, my Firefox browser has full internet and LAN connection and abilities.

I appreciate any thing you can recommend.

Also note I keep getting a "notification" that my Microsoft account needs attention. It directs me to Shared Experiences" to fix the problem. I try to fix from there but it fails due to "No internet connection"

I have checked my Microsoft account via browser access and finf no highlighted problem in my account.

When will the wifi connectivity problems be solved?


OK, so the Windows 10 engineers bollixed up the wifi connectivity part of the operating system. Everybody knows that by now. It seems they are making some progress in resolving it. Now, instead of seeing "Secured, No Internet" on your list of wifi connections, you see "Connected, Secured" EXCEPT no webpages will load. So you really aren't connected. It does seem to be a step in the right direction. Does anybody know when they plan on a full and complete repair of this screw up of epic proportions?
