Windows 10: Windows does weird stuff after waking from sleep?

Been having this issue for a couple months now. A reboot always fixes things until the PC goes to sleep, then after waking up, it'll start to have a couple small issues. The first and most annoying issue has to do with the clock - it runs behind, starting slowly but eventually getting behind by 20+ minutes after a few hours. The second issue has to do with video playback - when I open a video with VLC or most other players, it stutters, skips and takes a very long time to load, basically making watching a video impossible. Media playback in browsers and some media players isn't affected.

I already replaced my motherboard, RAM and GPU very recently as part of a rig upgrade, which changed nothing. Also tried clearing the CMOS with no success, even replacing the battery on my old board. Malwarebytes scan comes back negative, sfc /scannow did nothing.

Is it even possible this is a Windows issue? It's by far the strangest issue I've had in 10+ years. If it is, would resetting the PC but keeping my files be enough, or would a complete reinstall from an image be the better path?

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

• Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the command line below:

Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

computer wake-up after sleep

There's a possibility that the settings that enables your Space bar to wake your computer up from sleep was reset after updating Windows. If this what had happened, we suggest that you just re-set it up. See the steps below on how to do
so:

• Press Windows key and type keyboard in.
• Click on Keyboard option and a pop-up windows should show up.
• From there, go to > Hardware tab > Properties >
  Change settings > Power management > Allow this device to wake the computer >
  OK/Apply.

Try the if the steps did work and let us know any updates.
