Windows Driver Foundations/WUDFHost High Memory usage 27.8%

Hello, I am posting this forum to ask for help due to a recent problem I've been having. I've been doing my research on everything on what could be causing this. From what I've 'read' is a "set of libraries and tools which helps in reducing the complexity while writing Windows drivers. It pushes the drivers to user mode. This service is necessary for the overall stability of the system." however, most of my drivers have been updated. did a full scan in command prompt and windows update troubleshooter. Command prompts system scan said there were no issues; my laptop is fully up to date with the latest updates I check every weekend and do a manual check in settings and then install them if there are new ones and double check after i do that process. WiFi Drivers are completely new to me since I've only ever heard of it from this Microsoft post from 2017 about someone complaining about "high CPU usage" WUDFHost is using 0% CPU 27%+ memory and 0% disk.

I look forward from hearing a response :

:)

2. Windows Driver Foundation High CPU Usage Problem

Hi Markus,

WUDFHost or Windows Driver Foundation is a set of libraries and tools which helps in reducing the complexity while writing Windows drivers. It pushes the drivers to user mode. This service is necessary for the overall stability
of the system.

You've mentioned that all your apps and programs have been updated, is Windows included in them? How about your drivers, especially your WiFi driver?

Have you ran the System Maintenance Troubleshooter? Running this troubleshooter will find and clean up unused files and shortcuts, and perform maintenance tasks.

• Right-click the Start icon, then select Control Panel.
• Choose the Large icons option from the View by drop down list found on the upper-right part of the Control Panel window.
• Locate then select Troubleshooting.
• Click View all from the left pane.
• Locate and click System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter then follow the next steps.

You may also perform a Clean Boot to make sure that no application is causing the high CPU usage.

Clean Boot helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when running or installing a program in Windows 10.

Note: Please go through the section: How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot of the Kb article to boot the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue.

Here are some other steps you may take to troubleshoot the high CPU usage issue you're in.

Let us know what happens next.

Regards.
