Windows 10: Windows Email slow and deleting Problems

I'am trying to help a friend out with his e-mail problem. Outlook that is built into the Windows program has recently started giving him problems. He is Importing Gmail only and when you click on an email sometimes it will show you it. However when you go to delete an email it acts like it has but the email remains on the screen. Then you either have to close the email and start all over or the program itself will freeze up and close. We have ran multiple antivirus scans and found nothing. Any ideas?

Windows Messenger Confirmation Email

No It didnt appear in my spam box but I updated to Windows live Messenger which sent the confirmation email and also verified windows messenger. Ty everyone for there suggestions

Deleting Multiple Email from Windows 10

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check:

• Type mail in the search box to open mail app.
• click on the folder from which you want to delete multiple emails.
• click on enter selection mode in the search
  area.
• click on multiple emails and click on delete.
