Windows 10: Windows error 0x80070003 when installing KB4571756 on Windows 10 Home version 2004

I've tried to install this KB on the machine through Windows Update and running it standalone.


When I run the standalone msu, I get the following error:

KB4571756 Windows Update error 0x80073701 Standalone Installer error 0x8024200B

Windows update failed KB4571756 with error 0x80073701. Downloaded Standalone Installer windows10.0-kb4571756-x64.msu failed with error 0x8024200B.

I've already tried these steps:

- Windows Update troubleshooter <- no errors

- sfc /scannow <- no errors

- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth <- no errors

- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth <- no errors

- dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

- deleted content SoftwareDistribution and catroot2

tried again via Windows update and standalone install but got the same error.

The device is a Surface Pro3 running Windows 10 Pro 2004 without any previous Windows Update issues.

I have exactly the same problem. 2020-09 cumulative update for windows 10 version 2004 for x64-based systems (KB4571756) . After installing to 100%, I get this message ''There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80073701)''
