Windows 10: Windows Event Log fails to start with Error 126: Specified Module could not be found....

Normally I would look in the Event Log Viewer if a service fails to start but since it's the Event Log Service itself that fails to start, I don't know exactly where to look for what the missing Specified Module is.I ran both dism and sfc /scannow without any problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would create a MS support ticket but because Windows Event Log service isn't working, it caused cascading failures including the Network Location Awareness so the Get Help app keeps insisting it's not connected to the internet.

When I start the "Windows Event Log" service I get the following error:

Windows could not start the Windows Event Log service on Local Computer.

Error 15008: The specified xml text was not well-formed. See Extended Error for more details.

Any suggestion on how to make this sevice work again?

computer failed to boot - disk error event id 153 + 98

Hi, suggest you try Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) - gives a great quick analysis (SSDs too).
