Windows Event Log Online Help just goes to MS homepage

In the Event Log, General Tab, More Information: Event Log Online Help.

The link that MS sends you off to hasn't worked for some time. The link just goes to MS Home Page.

Is there away to make this work again? If MS has abandoned it, can it be linked to Google?

    :)

  2. Home page was hacked. System Info requested.

I have been having issues with my desktop. Reimage consultant said my homepage has been hacked. They identified Slimware. Here is the Event Viewer Log and System Info requested. I appreciate your time. I start back to school online in April and I am
stressing about this problem. Thank you for your help.

    windows 10 event viewer (properties)

descriptions of an event in the properties information window sometimes are not understood, and clicking the "more info" link "event log online help" will open a confirmation window to send info over the internet to Microsoft, and instead of any information
about the "event ID" it opens MS website. Does anyone know why? thank you.

Windows Event Log Online Help just goes to MS homepage

Help has largely been abandoned by MS it seems. There are some nonsensical links, non-existent links, and ones that are simply plain unhelpful. Win 7 was the last version integrated with useful links. Now it's a community scheme apparently.

Just think of the saving... (Satya Nadella??) as they made a whole department of technical authors redundant.

I sometimes think, that the original Windows developers have all retired, and the current crop doesn't fully know what is going on.

Windows 7 was the last version that I remember, that on a clean install, did not have an event log full of errors. Windows 8 and on, with a brand new computer, clean install, the event error is full of errors. Most of which are just permission problems in the registry.
