Windows 10: Windows explorer address bar doesn't clear after search

In Windows 11, I sometimes need to do a search in a folder in Windows Explorer. What I've found lately, is that when I've finished with that search, the address bar doesn't clear. I was going to upload a screenshot here, but it won't let me do it.For example: If I've just done a search in Folder "1234 - Can I find it", and then finish the search either by "Close Search" or navigating elsewhere, the words "Search Results in 1234 - Can I find it" remain in the address bar and I can't see where on my hard drive I actually am. i.e. No, "This PC > Documents > 9876 - Doing something else no

How to clear the search record at the search bar on Windows 10

  Which search bar are you referring to?

  Is it the search bar in file explorer or the search bar on desktop (cortana and search)?
  

If you are referring to the search bar in file explorer, I suggest you to follow the steps given below and check if it helps:
(to delete a specific entry)

• 
  Open File Explorer.
  
• 
  Click/tap inside the Search box, then select (highlight) the search suggestion (ex:
  ttt) that you want to delete, and press the Delete key.
  
• 
  You will not notice that it has been deleted.
  
• 
  Repeat if you would like to delete another one.
  

To clear all search entries, follow this:

• 
  Click/tap on the Download button below to download the .bat file below, then
  run it.
  
  Clear_Search_History_in_File_Explorer.bat
  

2. If prompted, click/tap on Run.

NOTE: If you like, you can stop getting the Run prompt by
unblocking
the downloaded .bat file.

3. You will now notice a command prompt quickly open and close while applying the changes to your registry.

How do I clear my File Explorer address bar history?

On Google Search, I found the following recent answer to "How do I clear my File Explorer address bar history?" …

"To delete a single autosuggested URL, start typing the address as you normally would—Google.com in my example. Then, when the unwanted autocomplete suggestion appears, use your keyboard's arrow keys to highlight the suggestion in the drop-down menu below
the address bar. Finally, press Shift-Delete and poof!Sep 14, 2018"

I've tried this with the Address Bar in File Explorer and the Address Bar in the Toolbar. The problem here is THIS PROCEDURE DOES NOT WORK for me.

Does anyone know of an alternative approach which will work?

 

Disable File Explorer Address Bar Path History?

Hello, After entering a file path manually in File Explorer, the entry is kept in the dropdown list of the address bar until I go to View > Options > Clear File Explorer History. I'd like Windows to never store these paths, if possible. I have successfully disabled autocomplete via the registry using the following guide, but it doesn't prevent the history of file paths to be stored: Turn On or Off Inline AutoComplete in File Explorer and Run Dialog I've searched and searched but can't find a solution to this, yet. Hopefully someone has something to suggest that I haven't tried. I know it's possible, since I believe I had it working on my last Win10 machine, but I'm not sure how I did it. Thanks in advance!
