Windows 10: Windows explorer crashes searching meta tags on image files

Windows 10 Enterprise 21H2 LTSC VMware VM. 4 virtual cores 12GB RAM 15+GB free disk space We have a number of graphic designers that work within our VMware system and with the recent upgrade from 1809 to 21H2 LTSC we're encountering an issue we didn't experience previously. We have a folder that contains a large number 80k+ of images downloaded from Getty Images that have meta tags on them. When users search in the Explorer search bar for tag: info it starts returning results but after a certain point Explorer crashes and if I check the event log it shows the exception occurred with phot

Have created name tags in image files, want to find an easy way to search for individual tags.

i read this

Using Tags to Search in Windows 10 File Explorer

• Open the File Explorer by pressing “Win + E” keys.
• Click on the search box and then go to the “Search Tools” in the menu bar.
• Select “Other properties” to expand the options.
• Click “Tags” to allow Windows to reference tags when looking for the file.

But I just cant find search tools...Also there's meant to be an option of a drop down list of tags to select

Clear the 'cache' in file explorer for already used picture tags?


If you set some tags for your *.jpg pictures, the windows 10 file explorer shows them in the "details pane" on the right side.





This list can get very long and with some wrong or no longer used entries.
How can I clear this list / cache / suggestions?

Or how can I stop the file explorer to suggests already used Tags?

Hi, works for me- e.g. deleting album name in mp3tag, then viewing that via properties, the album name had vanished as expected.
