  1. Windows Explorer does not display the disk size correctly - skips one MB.

    Hello everybody,

does anyone know the story behind the fact, that for years since windows 7? Windows Explorer "embezzling" one megabyte when it comes to displaying the total size of a partition?

    One Example:
A partition which has the size of exactly 102400MB is not displayed with 100GB but only with 99GB.
Only if you add one MB Total: 102401MB the Explorer shows the size of 100GB.

It is not really a big deal, but still annoying.
Has anyone an idea why Windows Explorer behaves like this?

    Thanks and greetings,
    Martin

    :)

Win Explorer is displaying the file size incorrectly, KB where is MB

New Laptop w/Win 10 displayed the file size correctly until this morning.

This morning, they all are KB.

It USES KB instead MB. I know they are MB size.

Example, right window where the files are listed under the SIZE col, all are 00,000 KB.
I know they are large so I went to PROPERTY lists correctly, 00,000 MB.

    ANYONE?

  3. How to display file sizes in MB/GB/TB etc instead of only KB in Windows Explorer?

In a file listing in Windows Explorer, I see the file sizes in KB.

How do I have those file sizes simplified and shown in more convenient units like MB, GB etc?

    Or, KiB, MiB, GiB

    File Explorer - File Size

Hi. In the File Size column in File Explorer the size is displayed in kBs. When the list of files contains extreme size variations, there is a necessity to have wide column to get the millions of kBs displayed. Also, having the display automatically adjust itself to a suitable factor would then save the trouble of trying to calculate the massive figure. Is there any way to make it display the size in other sizes, such as MBs, GBs or even just bytes? Or perhaps make it automatic, which would seem more preferable?
