Windows 10: Windows explorer/file explorer not responding

Hello guys recently I have this problem whenever I open file explorer and click on like downloads or this pc it just freezes and doesn’t respond. Sometimes when I end file explorer using task manager, the screen goes gray and nothing happens. I’ve tried restarting files explorer, updating windows, sfc /scan now and literally everything. How do I stop this error thanks a lot if you do help me fix this.

I don't use Internet Explorer, I meant the thing where you can look at files etc. Hotkey Windows+E. Maybe it's the wrong name in english though. *Stick Out Tongue

are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer

Since version 7 of the world`s most popular web browser - Microsoft Internet Explorer was silently renamed to Windows Internet Explorer.Such a step from Microsoft is not a surprise since Internet Explorer is part of the Windows operation system for a long time.Obviously Microsoft corp. wants to state that Internet Explorer is already considered as a part of Windows and not as an external browser (remember the IE and WMP law issues last year!?).
