  1. Windows Explorer is rotating images at random

Been nine months since I reported this, and it’s still happening.I’ve had to reduce my Windows Explorer usage to almost zero replacing it with One Commander. Opening it again today, it did it again. I literally watched the photo rotate while my hands were off the keyboard and mouse. One Commander actually uses File Explorer in its back end and it has worked perfectly fine. What did Microsoft screw up that causes images to rotate themselves? Is there any update at all, please?

    :)

  2. File Explorer is rotating images at random

Any updates on this, Microsoft? It’s been months, and it’s mega-annoying. There’s also no predicting which images will fall victim next. I’ve had to make extra back-ups in case, plus I’ve had to re-download email attachments that your File Explorer has rotated. I know it’s random as the re-downloaded file, which is identical to the original, might not be rotated by Explorer. It’s all the luck of the draw.

I am on a computer with a Ryzen CPU, maybe there’s some incompatibility?

  3. File Explorer is rotating images at random

Hi Sunit, they’re not synced to anything. Explorer just seems to like choosing random photos and rotating them, either left, right, or even upside down. There’s neither rhyme nor reason on which ones it chooses. In fact, I don’t even need to preview them now. Explorer just changes them by itself.

Bumping this thread as the examples continue to mount … even includes scans where there is no orientation flag! Getting really dull having to redo work because of a computer operating system.

No rhyme or reason … you’ll just do them at random.

All I did here was select the Explorer window and I watched the program rotate that photo once more so it’s now upside-down. This is getting ridiculous.
