Windows 10: Windows Explorer list view too much space between folders & files

Discus and support Windows Explorer list view too much space between folders & files in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I like a compact folder and file list but recently I keep seeing the view in this image.     Windows Explorer list view too much space between folders & files


    I like a compact folder and file list but recently I keep seeing the view in this image. How can I go back to the old view? I have right clicked and done view but that doesn't make it more compact. I was going to do A vs B pics but I can't get it to back to no space between. Sometimes I can do it with a restart. Thanks.     Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Files & Folders View as medium or large Icons

    To assist you better, we would suggest that you try to follow the steps below:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Once you are viewing a folder, right click an empty space within the File Explorer window and select View from the dialogue menu, then choose Large or any icon you wanted to use. Alternatively, you can use the following shortcut keys on the keyboard to
      change your View settings:
    • CTRL + SHIFT + 1 Extra Large
    • CTRL + SHIFT + 2 Large icons
    • CTRL + SHIFT + 3 Medium Icons
    • CTRL + SHIFT + 4 Small Icons
    • CTRL + SHIFT + 5 List
    • CTRL + SHIFT + 6 Details
    • CTRL + SHIFT + 7 Tiles
    • CTRL + SHIFT + 8 Content
    3. Once you have the view set, you can make it the default view for

    every folder.

    4. Click Apply, then click OK.

    Windows Explorer list view too much space between folders & files

    "Line spacing" in File Explorer "List" View

    It seems like something changed in the past day or two to add line spacing when in List View in Explorer. Not sure if it's quite double-spacing, but there definitely is more vertical space between items now.

    Any idea how to reset that to the previous single-spacing?

    Here's what I see now:
