Try running a surface scan. => a picture of your disk.
    E.g. use Macrorit Disk scanner
    or
Hard disk Sentinel (trial) - that usually gives a very clear statement about the health of your disk and Disk, Surface Test runs a surface scan.

Hopefully the surface scan may convince you to invest in a new disk and try to retrieve as much as you can.

If it were me, i wouldn't waste time trying to save a falling drive.... Replace the drive, start with a clean install of Windows and be happy. Use this as an excuse to upgrade to an SSD!

That's the point I was trying to make. This drive is probably going to fail in the near future, best to do something about it now while it is still readable.

As I understand it, 'pending sectors' are still readable, but may need several retries to read the data. If the Uncorrectable Sector Count is still zero there may be time to make a system image and restore that to a replacement drive (or SSD).

  6. I kept posting on this thread because I was getting different results from different disk checking programs. Each one says something different about the disk. Thats why I keep posting on this threat but perhaps I should get a new hard drive even if this one still somewhat works.

EDIT: Thank you to everyone who has helped me!

Some test look deeper than others, that's all. Backblaze (a cloud storage provider) know a thing or two about predicting drive failure.

    https://www.computerworld.com/articl...e-failure.html

...and one of those is Pending Sector Count.

That would seem a sensible approach, particularly while you can still back up all your data. Good luck.

    Thanks!

Do you think I should upgrade to a SSHD?

I wouldn't. I have an SSHD and didn't notice much of a difference. 100% SSD makes a very noticeable difference, though, and during all operations, not just boot time.
