    Windows Explorer not showing icons and folders while setting up new user accounts


    Hello,


    I created new user accounts for my family as part of the Microsoft 365 plan, so each one can have personalized access to their Onedrive storage and apps. But when I access the Desktop interface or the Windows Explorer most of the icons are missing even thought they are accessible through the address bar. None of the thumbs show up as well, even after resetting the Graphics Preferences or cleaning up the Disk. Even the local account which doesn´t need a Microsoft account to setup has the same issues. The Start Menu shows up all icons normally. Any tips on how to solve this issue?

    How to make vista display same icon size for all opened folders in explorer ?

    i dont think this answers the question , how do i make all icons in all folders appear "Large Icons" .

    Confusion between User accounts and Windows Explorer User folders

    The Windows Explorer lists two user folders. However, User Accounts in control panels only shows one account-mine. Why not two? Also, the folder name in Explorer is different than the one in User Accounts*cry. Why?

    I'm throughly confused. What are the user folders in Window Explorer? Are they supposed to be accounts? Why don't they appear in User Accounts?*cry

    I can find lots of info about User Accounts on line, but nothing about the folders in Windows Explorer.

    New Account/User Issues

    Hi,

    When you create a new user account, Windows uses the Default user profile as a template to construct the files for the newly created user account. You might be experiencing issues creating new accounts due to a corrupt Default profile. To
    resolve the issue, we suggest reinstating the Default folder in the
    Users directory by following these steps:

    • Log in as an administrator.
    • Open the C:\Users folder using Windows Explorer.
    • Rename the Default user profile folder to Default.OLD.
    • Download a zip of C:\Users\Default from a Windows 10 installation that doesn't have this problem.
    • Unzip the non-corrupt Default profile into C:\Users.
    • Try logging in to the new user account and check if the problem is resolved.

    Let us know how it turns out.
