FIRST and FOREMOST, I already know how to change the COLUMN HEADERS in Windows Explorer which apply ONLY to the particular drive/folder/files ACTIVELY DISPLAYED in front of me each time I launch Windows Explorer. This is performed by RIGHT CLICKING on the bar which displays the Column headers and then checking or unchecking the columns one wishes to view. But they are not changed upon closing W/Explorer. Upon relaunching the App, the default displays the same damn Columns.EVEN THOUGH, I OPEN Windows Explorer again and choose <TOOLS> from Menu Bar, then select <FOLDER OPTIONS ...&g

Permanent Windows Explorer folder view settings system wide AND column headings.

I haven't been able to find a solution to my specific problem

I know how to change the list feature and add/remove column headings for particular folders. But I would like to permanently choose the default list type and column headings for Windows Explorer . I want to be able to open up Windows Explorer and look at any folder and see the detail list shown with my chosen column headers.

I still want to be able to change individual folder display preference, but I want the default to be list details, and include headers "Date Taken" and "Date Created". I don't want to have to do this on a folder by folder basis. I have hundreds.

With the Windows File Explorer, is there any way of changing the default display window column widths?

I have some files with very long names, and I always want to see the file extensions as well as the names. In the default Windows File Explorer, the first column listing the names of the files is too narrow for some of my file names with extensions. I
can drag the right margin of the first column to the right and fix that, but the next time I open File Explorer, I have to do it again. I would like to set the column widths and have that be the default thereafter.

Is there a way to permanently default "size all columns to fit" in Windows 11? (I recognize that this question has been asked many times in many ways, but I have not seen a workable (or any Microsoft) response)
