Windows 10: Windows Explorer Preview not working for files in OneDrive Folder

Once "Files On Demand" was activated it can't be deactivated... when selecting "Download All Files" --> it doesn't download all files and remains in "Files On Demand" mode.But even the target file does exist, preview isn't displayed. Windows Explorer Preview not working for files in OneDrive Folder

Hi.

The Windows Preview pane in Windows 10 Explorer doesn't work for files stored in the OneDrive folder.

The only way to get it to work is to open the file first. But then that defeats the whole purpose of using the preview pane.

It's very irritating. And then it forgets a day or so later and so you have to re open the file again to view it rather than preview.

And for some reason some actually work without having to be reopened. only 1 in 20.

This can be PDFs, Word, Excel, anything.

Does any one have any ideas please?

I really do need this facility.

 

Preview Pane for Images/Some Thumbnails/Photos not Working Only on OneDrive Folder

The preview pane and thumbnails as well as the Photos app are not working, but only on my OneDrive folder. It works fine on an exact copy of the same files that are not in the OneDrive synced folder structure (and known to Windows as being OneDrive).

• Open OneDrive Folder, navigate to photos directory
• Sony Raw images (.ARW) do not show thumbnails. (I have the Sony plug in installed)
• Double click on a raw file, Photos says "We can't open this file."
• Click on a jpeg file, and with preview window turned on, no preview appears
• Double click on jpeg file, opens fine in Photos, and then the preview window image appears

• Navigate to a directory that is not synced to OneDrive
• Sony Raw thumbnails show up fine. They also show up in the preview window.
• Double click on Raw file and Photos opens it up without problems

• Back to OneDrive photo directory
• Copy raw file to desktop
• Immediately the thumbnail appears and the file can be opened with Photos. The same file that it can't open from Explorer in the OneDrive directory

This is only happening on my desktop. My laptop is fine. Both same versions of Windows 10 Version 1709 OS Build 16299.19

 

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Anyone know how to remove "OneDrive - For Business" from the Explorer navigation panel? I've tried just about every registry modification, and windows policy for "Onedrive" but they only seem to work for the consumer product, not for onedrive for business.

The onedrive product alone is so damn annoying and continues to load itself upon startup, even when it's explicitly remove from startup. It continues to automatically load and unload itself from within the startup folder... while I'm actively watching it load itself into the startup folder.
