Windows 10: Windows Explorer using 30% of my cpu out of nowhere.

My computer recently has been having problems with windows explorer. It has been using anywhere from 20-30 percent of cpu. I have tried chdsk, sfc/scannow, deleting my temp files and my iconcache, and checking for viruses with windows defender and Malwarebytes. Does anyone know of a possible solution other than resetting?

CPU Usage Stuck at 30%

I'm sorry but there are no background process using 30% of cpu. The highest one is Microsoft Software Protection Platform, using 7% of cpu. The other one is Explorer, using 3% of cpu.

Should i disable it?

are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
