Windows 10: "Windows Explorer" vs. "File Explorer"- how to group them in the taskbar?

Hi all, when I open "File Explorer" via the standard methods click the taskbar icon; Win+e, etc. it creates a "File Explorer" group on the taskbar. Any subsequent invocations add that window to that icon group. This uses the white with blue icon. HOWEVER, if I use "Show in Folder" after downloading a file Edge or Chrome, it creates all those in a "Windows Explorer" group. This one uses the all yellow "open folder" icon. When I look in the task manager, ALL of the windows are shown as "Windows Explorer".


How can I get these all to show up in the same group? It's annoying to have to hunt through the two groups to find the file explorer view that I want to go to.

Windows Explorer Replacement?

I don't use Internet Explorer, I meant the thing where you can look at files etc. Hotkey Windows+E. Maybe it's the wrong name in english though. *Stick Out Tongue

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• First unpin the File Explorer from the task bar.
• Press Windows + E.
• And right click on File Explorer in the taskbar.
• And Pin the File Explorer to Taskbar and Check if it helps.

are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer
