Windows 10: Windows feature update 2004 or above just breaks my PC

When I did 20H2 back in november, my pc went into a perpetual state of getting black screen each time i did very basic things like right click etc, it was so much delay that i had to revert back. Now this time, feature update 2004 forced its way on my pc, restarted and same story, black story got stuck completely. So i reverted back again. I know it looks like my geforce driver update for my 1050ti graphics card hasn't been going through lately either. So this means, i'll likely stop getting security updates from May 2021 according to wikipedia. So, I am thinking, bearing in mind there is no other option i can think of, as long as i am careful browsing on the internet, i should be ok continuing without security updates past may 2021 right? bearing in mind I have ran out of options with my pc.

2004 update windows 10 error 0x80070002

Hello everyone,

thanks to some of the suggestions here and to some from other sources I have managed to fix the 0x80070002 error breaking up my feature update to 2004.

For completeness' sake and since it may help others, the following steps worked for me.

1. Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website
2. Create a bootable USB drive with the MCT
3. Boot up from this USB Drive
4. Choose install settings, click 'Next', but on the next screen select "Repair your computer" instead of "Install"
5. Choose "Troubleshoot" -> "Startup Repair" and let it finish
6. Restart into Windows and attempt the usual Windows update

It looks like the BCD on my computer had been damaged by the boot loader (Windows 10 + Recovery partition) and running the "Startup Repair" from the installation USB Drive corrected the errors.

 

Windows Show Hide not hiding 2004 feature update

Show/Hide has always worked for me. Yesterday I had about 10 updates show. I want to install all BUT the 2004 Feature Update, so hid that in Show/Hide. It shows as hidden there, but when I check Windows Update again the next day, it is still listed. Normally, it would not be and all other updates would be. Now all are there and I do not yet care to install the feature update.

Any ideas / suggestions?

Windows 10 Pro and Ergnomic Break Reminder

Apologies for the late reply.



Do you remember installing any break reminder software?



It looks like it is a pop up from a break reminder software.



I suggest you to look for this in Programs in features and uninstall it if do not use it.



Try the following steps:

• 
  Press Windows + R keys to open Run Command
  
• 
  Type Appwiz.cpl and hit enter
  
• 
  Search for the programs and un-install it.
