Windows 10: Windows file explorer issue?

    Windows file explorer issue?


    So I have a newly installed PC and I’ve been having the following issue. Basically I cannot change my desktop background, nor can I click the icons like the clock in the bottom right corner.

    When I go to change the background, I select an image, then it sort of stutters and the display menu disappears, I repeat the same process and it does the same thing. With the bottom right control panel, I click the icons and basically it doesn’t open any of the percs... I can’t even check the time?

    Now hear me here, I’ve tried to troubleshoot this before and I’ve noticed if I end “windows explorer” from the task manager, then reopen it via task manager.. the background can be changed again and I can actually open up the bottom right control panel.

    Now I don’t know why this keeps happening again, it’s kind of annoying and is effecting the programs that I use.. making file searching a lot slower..

    Does anyone have a complete fix for this? I don’t want to keep having to do the task manager temporary fix..

    Windows Explorer Replacement?

    I don't use Internet Explorer, I meant the thing where you can look at files etc. Hotkey Windows+E. Maybe it's the wrong name in english though. *Stick Out Tongue Windows file explorer issue? :p

    Windows Explorer Replacement?

    are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
