Windows 10: Windows File Explorer Too slow than Freeze than have to restart the computer

Hi..


Recently I have purchased Dell Vostro 3471 desktop and after setting up my pc and put my data backup in it, I started to have issues in File explorer. Whenever I open the drive or any folder, the green loading bar taking ages.. after that its just freezes, couldn't move cursor or open task manager. At the end I have to Had Shut Down and than need to restart. It works fine for a while after restart and than again it start to freeze once i open the file explorer. I didn't have any issues regarding startup or using any other programs. I have contacted Microsoft for the issue and done the 'sfc scan' , 'DISM online restorehealth' and even reinstalling the windows. I have scanned all my drives 3-4 times but couldn't fine any viruses. I have contacted Dell as well and they have confirmed that there is no issues in any hardware. Now I am stuck with the issue. other than above diagnosis, if anyone have tried something else, please let me know. Thank you.

Slow operation, crashes and freezing since windows 10

  What does it freezing? Is Internet Explorer freezing or computer is freezing?Rakesh: it's mainly the computer freezing. I don't use Internet Explorer

  As you said that slow operation, what is running slow? Are you not able to open any files/applications? Rakesh: The main thing which is slow more often than not is windows explorer.
  Also sometimes when I hit the start key or search through 'ask me anything' the computer freeezes.

  Does your PC hangs? Rakesh: The PC does hang, sometimes for 10-15mins before recovering or requiring a manual restart.

Windows 10 file explorer very slow (working on it...) issue

This seemed to help. Time will tell. It certainly is more helpful and practical than the suggestion to end toe Explorer task and start a new one.

 

Problem with Explorer and file dialogs

I'm having a problem with File Explorer and with file dialogs. It is similar to some of those reported here but also there are differences in some respects.

• Windows 10, up-to-date.
• Problem began after the February "patch Tuesday" update.
• Appears randomly--slightly less frequently since the March update, but still occurring. Sometimes when machine is first started.
• Symptoms are that File Explorer windows sit indefinitely saying "Working on it", same applies to file dialogs too.
• Also Google Chrome becomes very slow at loading web pages: > 5 minutes, but Edge is not affected.
• Restarting Explorer does NOT work, but restarting the computer does--BUT restarting takes much longer than usual, again >= 5 minutes.

Any suggestions? This computer came with Windows 10, so I cannot revert to an earlier version.

I have to say that Windows 10 is by far the least reliable version I've encountered. Even free, it isn't good value!
